Celebrating 30 years of Balloons Over Letchworth

The Friends Group would like to congratulate Sean Quigley on 30 years of ballooning from Letchworth State Park.  As one of the founding Friends members, Sean’s passion for this park, it’s history and future are paramount. The unique relationship Balloons Over Letchworth has with the park, helps make Letchworth a destination favorite for thousands each year.

Sean had graciously offered to donate tethered balloon rides as a fund raiser for the Friends to celebrate. Unfortunately, a thunder head formed last minute halting those plans. Thank you to everyone who purchased a ticket and opted to donate the cost to the Friends Group without a launch. Sean is also the catalyst behind our largest fundraiser each year, the Red, White, & Balloon Festival which invites balloon pilots and passengers to experience the unique opportunity of flying in the gorge.  Cannot wait until then? You can always book a flight with the Balloons Over Letchworth.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was also performed by Wyoming County Chamber & Tourism to honor 30 years of piloting balloons from the picturesque middle falls.  The photo opportunity included members of Sean’s flight crew, Friends of Letchworth State Park as well as Park Management.

Congratulations Sean, we wish you many more years!

With financial support from the Arts Council of Wyoming County, the Varysburg Lions Club and the Men and Women of the Royal Order of the Moose, Warsaw, NY, there will be lots of things to do. Native American storyteller Perry Ground, musician Allen Hopkins and Mr. Scribbles will be joining the fun.
