Description: William Pryor Letchworth was a Renaissance man for his time regarding philanthropy and the environment and three contemporaries of his were kindred spirits influencing his thinking. The presentation will discuss how these three like-minded souls, Pascal Pratt of Buffalo, William Webster of Rochester and Dr. Cordelia Greene of Castile interacted with Mr. Letchworth during the last half of the nineteenth century. Description: SUNY Geneseo’s renowned ethnomusicologist and Western New York music historian, Professor Jim Kimball will review the musical, historical and social workings of a square dance of the time of Mr. Letchworth. Professor Kimball also directs the Geneseo String Band.

LectureTopic: The Once, Current and Future Portageville Bridge

Description: Historical and engineering review of the three structures that have and will span the mighty Genesee. Mr. Johns is a Professional Engineer and a Senior Project Manager at Modjeski and Masters Consulting Engineers and is the Engineer of Record for the project. Modjeski and Masters is the Prime Consultant for Norfolk Southern and the NYS Department of Transportation is designing the new Portage Bridge.
