It’s coming very soon! The 5th Annual Teddy Bear Picnic will take place on Saturday, July 20 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Park’s Trailside Lodge. With the help of our generous community sponsors, the Friends of Letchworth hope to host the best picnic ever for the teddy bears and their young friends. There will be lots of fun and games for everybody. And, it is all free except for the $10 park entrance fee for those who do not have an Empire pass.

Everyone is invited! Bring your favorite stuffed toy and your family along with a picnic lunch to join in the festivities. Parents are asked to stay with their children during the event which will be held rain or shine. We have the Lodge and a large event tent in case the weather doesn’t cooperate.

Balloon Mania will be on site from 1:30 p.m. to closing to create balloon animals.
There will be crafts, coloring, games and face painting throughout the event.

They are at it again!! The teddy bears are planning a picnic at Trailside Lodge in Letchworth State Park from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2019. Everyone is invited, so bring your friends, family and a favorite stuffed animal along with a picnic lunch to join the teddy bears in their afternoon of fun.

This will be the fifth year The Friends of Letchworth State Park host this event. Along with the usual activities of face painting, crafts, games and story book hikes through the nearby woods, several people and animals have been invited to entertain you. Cathy McGrath of Tea Kettle Music Company returns to provide music and games, Perry Ground will again share his delightful Native American stories, and Wild Wings, Inc. will bring an exhibit of raptors so you can meet some of the birds that fly over Letchworth up close! New this year will be the addition of Balloon Mania.

The Friends of Letchworth State Park are proud to announce that we will be hosting the Civil Conservation Corps (CCC) Legacy National Annual Gathering in September 2019. This national event brings together researchers, descendants and other individual interested in the Civilian Conservation Corps program that operated between 1933 and 1942. The event gives us the opportunity to share Letchworth Park’s important CCC story and highlight the important steps the Friends have taken in cooperation with the Park to preserve Letchworth’s CCC legacy.
